The Idaho People’s Legislature will be a body of citizens randomly selected each year from across Idaho to review legislation being drafted by the Idaho Legislature and evaluate whether it actually helps Idaho and Idahoans, and to suggest new legislation that meets that standard.
The Idaho People’s Legislature would work on the basis of transparency, dialogue, and creativity, free from party and lobbyist influence.
It is our hope that the Idaho People’s Legislature will have a positive influence on the work of the “real” legislature while demonstrating the power of common-sense, solution-focused deliberation among everyday concerned citizens representing the diversity of our great state.
